Welcome To My Practice
Terms & Conditions
Taking the first step towards finding a therapist can feel overwhelming. To support you in this process, I am pleased to offer a complimentary 15-minute meeting. This session can take place either by telephone or via Zoom. It provides an opportunity for us to discuss your needs, explore how it feels to work together, and clarify what kind of therapeutic services you are seeking.
Therapeutic Approach and Modalities
I am trained in multiple therapeutic modalities and employ an eclectic approach, ensuring that my methods are tailored to your individual needs. Somatic Experiencing (SE) is one of the primary approaches I use. It is a naturalistic healing method designed to help you identify, settle, and release physiological activation in your body. Through this process, individuals often experience reduced stress, improved regulation, and a renewed sense of mastery in their lives.
SE encourages you to notice and attend to uncomfortable bodily sensations, gently unwinding them with focused and conscious attention. This approach is especially effective for managing stress, recognising that many stress-related symptoms are physiological.
For further details about Somatic Experiencing, please visit my blog and resources pages.
Other Therapeutic Models
In addition to SE, my practice is informed by a variety of other therapeutic models, including Person-Centred (Rogerian) Therapy, Transactional Analysis (TA), Psychodynamic Therapy, Erikson's Developmental & Psychosocial stages,
Somatic Trauma Therapy, Postural Therapy, Integral Somatic Psychology, and approaches that integrate spiritual perspectives.
These frameworks underpin my work and enable me to offer comprehensive support tailored to your unique circumstances.

Benefits and Risks
Somatic body work can provide a range of benefits, including an enhanced ability to self-regulate and a safer sense of empowerment. Many people find that engaging in this type of therapy helps them to feel more in control and better able to manage their emotions.
However, as with any treatment that addresses trauma, there are also potential risks to consider. While Somatic Experiencing (SE) is designed to help you work with manageable levels of discomfort and to build internal resources, you may still encounter challenging sensations, emotions, images, or thoughts during the process.
Despite these challenges, clients often report that SE has brought about significant positive changes in their lives. Learning to reorganise “body memory” is frequently a key step in gaining the ability to relax and regulate the nervous system.
Confidentiality
All information you share with me in the course of our work together will be treated as confidential. The only exceptions to this are safeguarding issues, which by law must be reported to the relevant authorities.
With respect to online sessions, please be aware that, while it is unlikely, online communications are never entirely secure. By signing the consent form, you acknowledge that you understand and accept the limitations of online security.
Phone Calls, Emails and Emergency Contacts
Due to the nature of my practice, all phone calls are scheduled in advance and are not taken on an impromptu basis. Emails are generally responded to within 24 hours during normal working hours, Monday to Friday. I will inform you if I am going to be away from the office, and it is important to note that I provide a non-emergency service.
Some clients may wish to send reflections by email between sessions. We can discuss these reflections during our next scheduled session. Please note that I may not respond to these emails but will instead address their contents when we next meet.
Fees
Sessions commence at the scheduled appointment time. The initial appointment lasts 90 minutes to allow for contracting and assessment. Subsequent sessions typically run for 60 minutes, although 30-minute sessions are available if needed. Fees are charged per session rather than by the minute, unless a shorter session has been specifically agreed upon in advance.

Cancellations
If you need to cancel or change your appointment, please notify me by email at least 48 hours in advance to avoid incurring a cancellation fee.
Touch
I may offer touch work during sessions for purposes such as grounding, containment, support, mobilisation, or to help build awareness.
Your consent will always be sought before any touch occurs, and you are fully supported in your right to decline.
If you do not wish to include touch in your sessions, or if it is not appropriate for the work we are doing, sessions will proceed without it.
